Grand Tour

Welcome to Cambodia. We pick you up from the airport and bring you to Angkor Spirit Palace Hotel where we provide you more information about Cambodia and your tour. As we understand that travelling might have made you tired you can relax at the poolside with a cocktail.

In the afternoon our tour leader will pick you up from the hotel for a visit to the Angkor National Museum. After this we planned a stroll around the old town with its market. Then we call it a day and head back to Angkor Spirit Hotel where we can refresh with a dip in the swimming pool.

After breakfast, our guide and tuktuk (3 wheel motorcycle with carriage) will bring you to the world-renowned Angkor Wat temple complex. Here we will visit the Angkor Wat temple, Bayon (Angkor Thom) and Ta Prom where the movie Lara Croft Tomb Raider was filmed. These magnificent temples will give you a good impression of the Angkor period. After a long day visiting these ancient temples we head back to the hotel where you can cool off in the swimming pool.

In the morning we will pick you up, with our jeep, from your accommodation and inform you about the program of today. About 48 kilometers away from Siem Reap rests the Phnom Koulen National Park. The adventures feeling of going by jeep gives a different view on the authentic Cambodian countryside life style. Phnom Koulen is one of the most scenic and historically significant locations in the area. Phnom Koulen is considered a sacred mountain in Cambodia, of special religious significance to Hindus and Buddhists who come to the mountain in pilgrimage. Most of our guests consider the reclining Buddha as the highlight of this tour. Then there is an area of Hindu lingas on the riverbed; though nothing as extensive as Kbal Spean. Above one of the most spectacular 2 waterfalls in Cambodia, there are a number of temple sites with carved animal figures. At the base of the falls is a large pool where we can go for a refreshing swim. Later in the afternoon we will head back by taking the outback dirt paths and might even witness dense jungles. In the late afternoon or early evening we will reach your accommodation in Siem Reap.

In the morning we will visit the mysterious 12th century temple in the middle of the jungle in Beng Melea. This temple is heavily overrun by vegetation, like tress, vines and moss. After this we continue to the largest floating village of Kampong Kleang. During the dry season you can walk between the stilts on which the houses are built, rising up to 10 meters in the air. In the wet season the lake reaches peak level and water rises till one or two meters of the building floors. You will enjoy a boat tour through the village and have the chance to meet the locals. Later we will have a short jeep ride back to your hotel.
