From Phnom Penh we ventured deep into lesser-known rural areas that most tourists never reach. Horn didn’t just show us places, he opened a window into Cambodian life. His knowledge of history, culture, and everyday stories made every stop meaningful. You could feel how much pride he takes in his country and how much he enjoys sharing it. One of the highlights was visiting a sanctuary where rescued elephants are being cared for. Seeing them up close in a natural, ethical environment was something I’ll remember for the rest of my life. Another unforgettable moment was sharing a meal with minority communities. It felt intimate, respectful, and very human – not staged, not rushed – just real connection. We also had the chance to see the rare Irrawaddy dolphins, which was honestly magical. Every single person were so professional and caring. The guides were so knowledgeable and always making sure my husband's accomodations due to his disabilities. Both in Phnomn Penh we have best experiences with Mao and Siem Reap with Sam even with his younger years he was so on top of everything and always making sure that it was possible for my husband. The drivers were also super kind both the car and tuk tuk. Going that extra step to make everything so much better for us. Heel goed geregeld allemaal. Een groepsapp waarin altijd iemand van de organisatie online is en dagelijks contact over ophaaltijden, herbevestiging, vragen, vouchers enz. Het is een toch wel arm land waar het toerisme nog in opkomst is; het is dus wat "rauwer" dan Vietnam en Thailand. Achteraf gezien hebben wij wel wat veel tempels gezien, maar dat hoort nu eenmaal bij het land. We received expert advise from Keeley on planing the custom itinerary to suit our interests. The tour logistics were handled perfectly by Phaleap and the rest of the team assigned to look after us. Airport pick ups, car and boat rides, flights, everything was on time and worked seamlessly. The guide in Angkor was excellent, knowledgeable and happy to share information about Cambodian history.
